Nutrislice Maritime
The ships have evolved. The labels haven't.
Nutrislice replaces printed buffet labels with centrally managed e-ink labels that update themselves by meal period, station, and venue. Guests get clear allergen and dietary information. Crew get their hours back. Printing goes to zero.
Built for cruise. Backed by the platform behind 30,000+ foodservice locations.
Trusted by leading brands
Billion-dollar ships. Paper labels.
Despite remarkable innovation across the cruise industry, buffet labeling still relies on printed cards. Each ship averages 230 label changes per meal period, handled by 8 to 10 crew members, three times a day, every day.

Missed onboard revenue.
Static cards can't promote specials, premium offerings, beverages, spa, or shore excursions at the moment a guest is deciding.
Labor burden across crew.
Labels are printed by another department, cut by hand, filed by station and meal period, then distributed and swapped. Then it starts again.
Inconsistent guest experience.
Styles, sizes, and designs vary by venue, ship, and meal period. Worn and misspelled labels stay in circulation.
Ongoing compliance exposure.
Hand-typed allergen information with no central validation. Every substitution is a chance for the label to be wrong.
Critical information is missing.
Traditional printed labels show little more than a dish name, leaving guests without what they need to make informed dining decisions.
- No allergen information
- No dietary indicators
- No ingredient details
- No nutritional information
- No multilingual support
- No central validation
One label for all three meal periods.
One Nutrislice e-ink label adapts throughout the day, automatically updating menu items, descriptions, dietary icons, and languages for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. No manual label exchanges.
No manual label exchanges.
Nothing to physically replace between breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
No storage or sorting.
Nothing to file, retrieve, or organize. Hundreds of printed cards simply go away.
Reduced labor demands.
Crew time previously spent preparing, distributing, and collecting labels goes back to guests.
Less waste, no reprinting.
No disposable labels, printing supplies, or unnecessary material consumption.
Faster service transitions.
Buffet changeovers get simpler and the workload between meal periods drops.
One label. Endless possibilities.
Eliminate printing and update instantly. Spotlight e-ink labels sit in premium frame holders at every station and pull their content from one central system, so every label is accurate before service starts.

Cloud to base station to label. Nothing else to run.
Menus live in Nutrislice. A small base station in each dining venue pulls them down over the ship's network and pushes them to the labels over Bluetooth. Labels only draw power when the content changes, so they run on coin cells for years.

What's on every label.
Spotlight gives guests and crew the same clear information at the station: dish name and description, calories, dietary icons, price, a QR code to deeper detail, and a second language. Staff see a position and scheduling code so every label goes back to the right spot.

Venue, station, position, label.
We start from your venue blueprints and build a buffet map. Labels belong to serving positions, not to dishes, so the same label shows fruit at breakfast and salad at lunch. Label counts are sized to the busiest service of the week.
- VenueLido buffet, main dining room, specialty, bar.
Each venue gets its own base station. Large venues get more than one for coverage.
- StationCarving, composed salads, pastry, hot line.
Each station is a label group with its own template: layout, fonts, icons, languages, and frame style.
- Day-partBreakfast, lunch, dinner, late night.
Each day-part is a scheduled food list synced from the menu cycle. The newest schedule takes over automatically.
- PositionOne label per well, platter, or display slot.
Labels are assigned in menu order. Spare positions show a setup message instead of a blank.
Network
Outbound only, two ports.HTTPS on 443 and MQTT on 1883 from the base station to Nutrislice. No port forwarding, no inbound access, no cloud dependency at the label.
Label link
Bluetooth + NFC, encrypted.Preconfigured closed-loop link between base station and labels. WiFi on the base station stays off. Labels never join the guest or crew network.
Range
About 40 ft per base station.Line of sight preferred. Metal shelving and refrigeration reduce range, so we place base stations from the buffet map, not a floor plan guess.
Power
Replaceable coin cells, up to 5 years. No wiring at the station. Battery level and online status for every label are visible in the admin console.
Display
E-ink, five sizes.2.9", 4.2", 5.8", 10.2", and 13.3". Black, white, and red or yellow accents. Anti-glare, readable under buffet lighting, holds its image with the power off.
Fixtures
Frame holders per label.Enhanced frame holders in brushed finishes, plus clamps, rail mounts, magnets, and adhesive for sneeze guards and shelf edges. Branded faceplates per venue.
Content
Template per station.Dish name, description, allergens, dietary icons, calories, prices, station codes, QR codes, and up to several languages per label.
Security
